“There have been 49 cases found so far of the new variant mainly in Yorkshire and Humber with people being told not to be alarmed by it.

The mutant form of Covid is a “variant under investigation” but there is no evidence yet to say it is more transmissible or resistant to vaccines.

At the same time, the government has said that the Covid R rate is now somewhere between 0.9 and 1.1 which is the highest it has been since the second wave peak back in January.”

Where is the message to get healthy? Of course those with less robust immune system with or without vaccine will get impacted – IF you are healthier you will have a much greater chance to not be impacted by covid.

“Germany on Friday classified the UK as an "area of variant concern", banning all but essential travel to the country.

The measure will come into force on Sunday.

The German Embassy in the UK said the new classification is due to "local outbreaks occurring again, including cases of more infectious variants such as the Indian variant at present."

Ambassador Andreas Michaelis said the decision was taken after looking "at all available data and details. We did not take this decision lightly."”

Its still India. Fatality rate inching up – likely will get near 2% which would mean at least 50% more deaths.
